Regal Gate Schools does not provide accommodation for students. However, we are listing some very useful information below:
There are various types of accommodation to be found in Liverpool and the cost is dependant on the type of accommodation you require and the area that you want to live in.
A bed-sit is a room in a house or flat. Sometimes there is a hand basin in the room but all other facilities such as the bathroom and kitchen will be shared with other people living in the same house. In the Liverpool and surrounding areas a single room can cost between £70-85 pw. Sharing a double room can cost £50-£60 per person per week.
A room in a family house/host family is a very good option if you want to improve your English as you will be living with an English family. This type of accommodation usually includes breakfast and possibly an evening meal.
A studio flat is a furnished room with its own kitchen and bathroom facilities. These are more expensive than bed-sits and prices vary depending on the area they are located in, the size of the room and the distance from public transport.
An apartment/flat/house will have one or more bedrooms and is usually self contained. This type of accommodation will typically contain a lounge, kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and sometimes a balcony or garden. This is good option if you wish to share accommodation with other students.
Most landlords/agents will ask you to sign a tenancy agreement. This is normally for a period of 6 months and in some cases 12 months. If you are sharing a flat with other people you may be asked to sign a joint tenancy. If this is the case then you will be responsible for each others debts and damages. Your landlord/agent will most probably ask for 1 monthâ€s rent in advance and also 1 months rent as a security deposit. Before you sign a tenancy contract please check the following:
Do not sign a tenancy agreement and pay a security deposit until you have seen the property and are absolutely sure you want to rent the property and have your finances in place. Should any students experience any problems with landlords we are very happy to try and help.
